    Blog_LinkIt is a free plugin for Drupal 5 to automatically convert text from your posts and pages into links from a central list of links. This makes it easy to add value your site but maximizing links to other sites and keeping them consistent throughout your site.

    Installation

    • Download zip file from bottom of this page.
    • Unzip file.
    • Copy in your modules directory ‘/sites/all/modules’
    • Log in with an administration account.
    • Select ‘Administer->Site Building->modules’
    • Scroll down to Blog_LinkIt and click ‘activate’.
    • Select ‘Administer->Site Configuration->Input Formats’
    • Select the Default input format and click ‘configure’
    • Tick ‘Blog LinkIt’ and ‘Save Configuration’

    Blog_LinkIt is now active.

    Configuration Blog_LinkIt has no user configurable options at this time. How to use To use Blog_LinkIt add new items to ‘Administer->Site Configuration->Blog Links’.

    About

    Blog_LinkIt has been design to safely and correctly replace text in your pages and posts this means:

    • <> Tags and [] are set asside before the replacing process, to ensure the integrity of the formatting.
    • Replacing is done in reverse length order to ensure short matches such as ‘Apple’ will not interfere with longer matches such as ‘Apple Itunes’.
    • Replacing is case insensitive, insuring a consistency of links throughout the blog.
    • Text in existing links will be ignored to avoid nested links.

    Version History

    • 1.0.0 : Initial release ( as WP_LinkIt ).
    • 1.0.1 : Fixed problem with some formatting characters ( as WP_LinkIt ).
    • 1.4.0 : Improved Inefficiency, added ability to match all links ( as WP_LinkIt ).
    • 1.5.0: Changed replacement order to stop short string overpowering long strings ( as WP_LinkIt ).
    • 2.0.0: Added Drupal 5 support. Renamed to BlogLinkIt.
    • 2.1.0: Added and independent time-out, so Blog_LinkIt will abandon changes if it detects it is running to long.
